Cliffside, Aug. 24.— Hello, friends. Don't have much to say this week but have plenty of personals. So we will get right down to business and let more important things take our place.
Mrs. Annie Cole, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Moore, Tence Moore, Mrs. Will Wilson, Sally and Virginia Scruggs, Mrs. Peggy Scruggs, Rossie Pearson, Horace Hamrick, Mrs. Coran Padgett and son, Gene, Mrs. John Padgett and son Faye, Mag Blackwell, Mrs. Pearle Bailey and two children, Betty and Gladys, spent the week end at Hendrick's camping grounds in Pisgah Forest.
Mrs. Mose Simmons is on the sick list. All her friends are wishing her a speedy recovery.
Misses Pamelia Pruette, Una Edwards, Pearle Simmons and Mr. Charles H. Haynes spent the week-end at Myrtle Beach, S. C.
Mrs. Merril Greene, of Washington, D. C. is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Luther Campbell.
Mr. and Mrs. Graham Byers, of Avondale, were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Womack.
The Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Gosey were Mrs. Nora Conner, Junior Conner, and Misses Mary, Juanita and Mildred Bates and Bud Bates, all of Shelby.
Misses Janie Crawley [maybe Campbell], Bunia White and Leola Sizemore spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Addie Smart, of Avondale.
Mrs. A. C. Lovelace, of Ridgecrest, visited Mrs. Charles McCurry, Thursday.
Mrs. Baxter Beason has returned home from the Rutherford Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hardin and children spent Sunday in Gastonia.
Mrs. Finch, of Guilford College, is visiting Mrs. G. O. Moss.
Miss Mabel Harrill is ill at this writing. We are wishing for her a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Bridges spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Moore, of Camp's Creek community.
The Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Womack were Mr. and Mrs. Otis Silver and children of Glenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Price and Mr. and Mrs. Ozell Wright of Alexander,
Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Clayton and Melba Clayton visited Mr. and Mrs. Albert Morehead, Sunday afternoon.
Miss Bertha McCraw visited Mr. and Mrs. Howard Burgess at Gastonia, Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Ware and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Latman, of Rockmart, Ga., were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Ware.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Harrill spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Winn, of Spindale.
Mr. Fred Whitaker, of Mooresboro, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Whitaker, Friday night.
Miss Betty Atkinson, of Gastonia, is visiting Miss Elizabeth Atkinson.
Mr. M. V. McKinney, of Houston, Texas, is visiting his sister, Mrs. Will Crawford.
Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Shuford and family are spending this week at Dabney tourist camp at Lake Lure.
Mr. J. K. McMahan of Anderson, S. C., visited his nephew, B. L. Davidson, Monday.
Master Charlie Creech, of Concord, is visiting his uncle, Mr. J. A. Talbert.;
Mr. Roby Matheny, of the U. S. Navy, has returned to Norfolk, Va., after spending ten days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Matheny.
Mr. and Mr. Howard Guffey, Mr. and Mrs. Pal [Poe] Murray and little son, Hugh, visited in Hendersonville, Saturday.
Mrs. Bessie Griggs [Grigg] is confined to her bed, after fracturing a rib.
Miss Virginia Burgess, of Gastonia, is spending a few days with Miss Polly Carpenter.
Mrs. L. L. Wortman, who has been an invalid for thirteen years, will celebrate her fifty-fifth birthday Sunday.

Misses Alice Jonas and Dot Beason were the week-end guests of the latter's grandparents, at Boiling Springs.
Mrs. Eva Padgett, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Beason, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Collins and son Malcolm, of Paw Creek, spent the week-end with Mrs. Padgett’s sister in Atlanta, Ga.
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Scruggs visited the latter's parents Sunday.
