William A. Allhands 1908-1969

William Allen Allhands, 60, of 2038 Pass Road, Biloxi, Miss., formerly of Cliffside, died Jan. 11, [1969] in a Biloxi hospital. He suffered a stroke on Jan. 9 and only lived 48 hours.

He was the son of the late Dr. John M. and Jennie Rucker Allhands.

William visited often in Rutherford County and enjoyed a host of friends and relatives. He finished school in Cliffside and attended Wofford College, Spartanburg. He was a journalist, writing for a number of newspapers and poetry magazines.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Sarah Hendron; one brother, George Allhands, both of Biloxi, Miss.; and a large number of cousins in Rutherford County.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Braford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi. Burial was also there.
