A
view toward the west of the store building and Memorial Building
From
Ginny Anne Reid collection
The yellow structure seen between the two red buildings housed, among other things, a skating rink on the upper floor and, at a later time, a washerette on the ground floor. The house on the far right, and the one beside it, were built way below street level. If you wonder if it was fun sitting on your front porch and staring at a high rock wall, ask Shirley Ruppe Stancil. She used to live there.
